Eddie Tatton (James Burton) Back to Profiles

Eddie is one of the most accomplished guitar players in the world and is one of the very few who could ever begin to fill the shoes of the legendary James Burton, known as “The Wild Man Of Telecaster”.

He really admires Burton and his style of playing and now that he has this role to play he is pulling out all the stops to sound exactly like the man himself. Not only will he be playing an exact replica of the 1969 Pink Paisley Fender Telecaster that James used but the amps will also be the original 1960s fender type.

“Mesmerising”, “Exceptional”, “Dazzling” and “Simply beyond belief” are just some of the expressions used to describe this mans talent by fans. This coupled with a fantastic on-stage rapport with Jason ignites some overwhelming memories of the legendary chemistry that was so alive been Elvis and Burton over 30 years ago.

Eddie has worked alongside Robert Cray, Junior Wells, Canned Heat etc at major blues festivals around Europe. His band “Out of the Blue” toured with “The Memphis Horns” who worked extensively with Elvis. They toured Europe and also played The Edinburgh Festival.

Eddie has toured and recorded with Hip Hop and R&B artists including Nightmares on Wax and Mozez from Zero 7. Sessions include recordings for Sting, Lil kim, U2. Also Jaki Graham and John Parr.
He was nominated Best British Blues Guitarist 5 years in a row from 1995 for the British Blues Conncection.

Sometimes it is difficult not to spend the whole evening watching this guy instead of “Elvis” – he’s that good! You can tell that playing guitar is the whole essence of who he is, and his performance on stage is nothing short of genius.

Eddie Tatton is simply in a league of his own.
